Alden MacKenzie

Biography

I will be a senior next fall at Grove City College studying physics and minoring in astronomy. I also love reading, sports, and being outside. Over the summers I have enjoyed being a counselor for a local Christian camp. For the past several semesters I have been conducting astronomy research. My research involves writing a python program to analyze images of the night sky taken with the AllSky camera located at the Grove City College observatory. The purpose of the program is to find any given star visible in the image and also to evaluate how clear a given image or night is. After college my plan is to work in industry, hopefully where I can make use of much of the physics I have learned.
