Daniela Marin

Biography

I am an undergraduate student at William Jewell College majoring in Physics. During my freshman year, I was introduced to the Society of Physics Students through our chapter's volunteer work and social events around campus. I immediately knew I had to get involved. Recently, I have been elected as the Vice President of my school's chapter and will aim at promoting physics for various ethnic groups within our community. Since my first year, I have had the opportunity to gain research experience through various forms. Specifically, fluid dynamics is an area that I have spent most of my time examining and was a co-author of a recently published experimental paper. Along with that, I have attended two APS Division of Fluid Dynamics conferences, one of which I presented a poster. Moreover, the desire to help underdeveloped countries is in my blood and having Spanish as my first language is helpful. I have traveled to Guatemala with an organization called Xela Aid where we taught people of the Mayan culture about physics. I will continue to search for other similar opportunities. My future plans include obtaining both a physics and chemical engineering degree. I want to find a job where I can apply my knowledge of fluids. In addition to physics, I enjoy soccer, hiking, and outdoor adventures.
