Emily Leach

Biography

I am a graduate student at Ithaca College, getting my Masters in Adolescent Education. I received my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Applied Physics just this year in May of 2024. I have been participating in SPS all through my undergrad and was able to attend the 2024 APS March meeting through my school's SPS chapter. Although I have done research in materials science, most of my research has focused on education. My physics education research focused on determining the effectiveness of new teaching and grading strategies in the classroom. My chemistry education work focused on using infrared cameras to create new labs and demonstrations for visualizing thermally based chemistry topics. After college, I plan to teach physics and chemistry at the high school level.
