This past week was filled with a lot of loose ends, as Tori and I finished the final touches on the exhibit cases. All of the archival documents and text materials have been printed, the designs and text have been edited by our mentors, and we even made a trip to the craft store to purchase other necessary materials. We were unable to install the exhibit this week though, because we are still waiting for the large background images to be printed by an independent shop. Once these images arrive, we will be ready to install the exhibit and officially announce its installation. I am looking forward to this culmination of our efforts and excited to share it with others.
Moving forward, Tori and I will be working on new outreach activities, which may include informational videos, newsletters, articles, and an online component to our physical exhibit. Also, for the month of July, Tori and I will also be taking over the social media campaigns for the Niels Bohr Library and Archives. This should be an effective way to reach a lot of people and share our outreach work with a larger audience. Overall, I am excited about finishing the exhibit and beginning the outreach work that is planned.
I addition to the work I've been doing for the exhibit, on Wednesday I attended an AIP Chatters meeting where important information and upcoming news was shared with all AIP employees. This meeting was interesting because I was able to learn about all of the different activities and changes that affect the workplace, including budget changes, new food trucks, and summer cleaning campaigns. I'm glad that the interns were invited to this meeting because the information shared gave me better insight into the robust nature of work forces and how companies handle different issues.
As for the upcoming weekend, there are tentative plans among the SPS interns to make a trip to Ocean City. I am really enjoying D.C. though, so I might just stay here for the weekend - we will see!
