This week has been amazing in its own way. During the school year like so many other students around the country, I work a part time job over 20 hours a week, am a full-time student, and an officer in multiple clubs.

While this week’s post is arriving a little later than my first two, I am confident it was worth the wait: my first full-length article published on Friday!

Over the past week, Tori and I have been working on the physical aspects of creating the exhibit: finalizing designs, printing and resizing images, obtaining the large images for the backgrounds, etc.

Although a little less invigorating than last week, this week has been about settling in. It is strange being able to get up at 6am with almost no problems now, especially because that was not something I ever accomplished in High School. So far at work the exhibit has been going along smoothly.

For this week’s adventure, my mentor Mitch sent me to the hub of capitol life: the Hill.

I have really become immersed in my project at the Niels Bohr Library & Archives this past week. Along with fellow intern, Tori, I am currently working to create a museum exhibit to showcase why the history of physics matters.

My first week has been a bit different that most of the other interns. While most of the other interns were settling into our apartment on Sunday, I was exploring Berlin. My school offers may term courses in which we can travel the world and explore interesting topics.

While Friday still needs to occur before calling the first week of my internship finished, I already learned so much in just the first few days. As an intern for the American Institute of Physics' online science policy coverage publication FYI, my mentor is Mitch Ambrose, science policy analyst.

Over the course of the next ten weeks, I will be chronicling my time as an SPS Intern, specifically in working with the wonderful team at the Niels Bohr Library and Archives at the American Institute of Physics.
