For my final blog post, I decided reflect on all the changes in my thoughts, perspectives and plans from May to August. Below is a letter to Justine a few days before I left for DC from Justine now as I am going home.

Dear Justine in May 2017,

This past week was the busiest and the greatest week of my summer. I spent Friday through Thursday in Cincinnati and the AAPT Summer Meeting.

This past week was spent in Miami being a part of an exciting project called STEP UP for Women. The goal is for one out of every three high school physics teachers in the United States to recruit one female student into physics each year.

I am writing this blog post from the DC airport. I am on my way to Miami. This week is sure to be a learning experience working at Florida International University on a grant project working to increase the number of women going into physics.

The adventures and thoughts of a two-day work week

I know I said last week went quickly, but it was nothing compared to this week. I didn’t even had time to blink and the week was gone. I only spent one day in the office, Monday, and, on that day, I felt like I didn’t even get much done.

I feel like I blinked and this past week was gone. It went so quickly. This past weekend, my best friend from home came and spent the weekend with me. We did as much as we possibly could in the 2 days she was here.

This past week has been probably my least exciting week to report so far. For the first time, I spent all five days in the office. I have been hard at work at developing lessons for a K-8 Waves and Sound Workshop to be held in Cincinnati this July.
