I am currently a junior Physics and Applied Mathematics major at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and one of four of the institutions Goldwater Scholarship nominees. Last summer, I enjoyed a NC Space Grant research internship opportunity at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) near the Blue Ridge Parkway working to optimize a radio interferometer in hopes of monitoring Extreme Scattering Events, or ESEs, in the interstellar medium. Presently, I am a part of a collaborative and novel research project at UNC-Asheville involving the epitaxial growth of graphene on silicon carbide wafers using carbon dioxide LASER stimulation. I am interested in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical physics (AMO), as well as material science and nanotechnology.
