I am pursing a major in Physics with a minor in German. I have been a part of SPS for my entire college experience. As a freshman I was co-Treasurer, as a sophomore I was the On Campus Programmer, meaning that I organized Pumpkin Drop, our annual Halloween event where we drop frozen pumpkins off the rough of Rhodes Tower, along with our participation in Rhodes’ annual Rites to Play, where children from the greater Memphis area visit the different clubs on campus through the games or activities that they provide. And this year, I am the Public Relations officer. I have connected SPS to the many email groups and advertising organizations on campus to get more students involved from the whole campus rather than just physics majors, as well as update our Facebook and Twitter pages. I also created a partnership between SPS and Target House, the long term care facility for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We have brought demonstrations like the Ooblek speaker to the fire tornado to show these kids how awesome Physics is. Once I graduate, I hope to go to law school and become a patent lawyer.
