I'm a junior physics major at Abilene Christian University. I have been involved with multiple research groups since after my freshman year, which included research in nuclear physics and more recently with gravity. I have been active with our local chapter of SPS since my freshman year, and have been elected to three local offices: freshman representative, secretary (sophomore year), and president (currently). Over the three years, I have been involved with activities ranging from game nights to physics demonstrations at elementary schools around the state to research presentations at various conferences. This year, I received a grant to be an SPS Reporter to the Division of Nuclear Physics conference in Santa Fe, NM. As president, I have striven to bring more academic and professional development opportunities to my fellow students, as well as more social events. In general, I find activity in SPS a great way to build a strong physics community both within our school and outside it.
