I am a rising sophomore at Juniata College pursuing a double major in Physics and Russian. I have studied physics at the undergraduate level, as well as calculus and electronics. I am currently working on an astronomy independent study project with the observatory on campus as well our new remote observatory off campus. I am preparing to spend the summer at an intensive Russian language program in St. Petersburg where I will be learning Russian through immersion to accelerate my language acquisition. I intend to combine my interests and work in diplomacy through science for the United States and Russia by collaboration between the nations to make scientific advancements. I currently work in a program called Language in Motion, which seeks to inform primary and secondary education students about studying abroad and all of the great opportunities and experiences that can come from an international education. I hope to combine that with the Science in Motion program that my college also offers to teach children about the benefits of learning science in conjunction with language and cultural education for them to become global citizens.
