SSAI Academic Scholarship
I am an undergraduate junior at Stanford University pursuing a major in physics and a Notation in Science Communication. I have been involved with my university's SPS chapter and PUWMAS (Physics Undergraduate Women and Gender Minorities at Stanford) since my freshman year. As the current co-president of PUWMAS, it is deeply fulfilling to build a welcoming and inclusive community for minorities in physics at Stanford. I have been incredibly lucky to have completed highly enriching research projects on gravitational waves of binary neutron stars, dark matter detection, and exotic materials in condensed matter. Outside of academics, teaching physics and STEM to the younger generation fills my heart. I have worked closely with students from elementary to high school level through hands-on science projects, lessons, and tutoring. I see pursuing a PhD in physics and ultimately working towards becoming a professor as an intersection of my academic and personal goals. I am also enthusiastic about hiking, cooking, trying new foods, and collecting fun socks!
